The weekend may have been a long, wet holiday for Mylaporeans but for photographer R Saravanan it has been a tough one.
Saravanan is videographing the kolus of all the families who registered for the Mylapore Times' annual cointest, revived this year.
Over 115 families signed up and Saravavan and his team has had to battle downpours, potholed roads and crowded streets to get to each house, shoot a 15 seconds video and move on.

About 25 curious people gathered at the gate of Indian Bank on North Mada Street last Sunday for the Navaratri Heritage Walk that Mylapore Times and YOCee had organised.
Children, parents, a few grandparents and photo enthusiasts were part of the group that walked down the street.
The group followed R. Revathi from one stall to the other listening to stories on the dolls on sale and their place in a kolu.
Many children knew the mythological stories related to the sets of dolls.

Madras Youth Choir (MYC) was founded by late M.B. Srinivasan, a well-known music director and a pioneer in Indian Choral Music. The Choir has started the sub junior category. This is open for children of the age groups 6 to 9. Children will be trained in the art of choral music singing. Classes will be held at Children’s Garden School, Mylapore. The Annual Teppam utsavam kicked off at Sri Adi Kesava Perumal Temple on Feb 4 evening. The chitrakulam tank was lit with colourful serial lights. On the first day (Feb 4), the teppam took place for Sri Adi Kesava Perumal and Goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi.
